Custom C.O.E. Trucks

Today many ot these trucks are going on in life as a custom truck. Some are basket cases,
but other are good running trucks, here are a few I have found or they found me.

Mr. Shorty

Ric Hall of Summer Washington built this great looking Shorty Pick-up, This truck was featured
in the book, "Chevrolet Pickup Color History", by Tom Brownell and Mike Mueller, Motorbooks
International, 1994. Ric sent me more info on this truck and when I find it i'll add it.

1954 GMC COE

Ken's 1954 GMC COE on a 1985 Chevrolet dually chassis, with tilt bed. Power is from a Chevrolet Next
Generation 502 cid engine with 540 hp and 540 foot pounds of torque at 2200 rpm. Transmissions,
Turbo 400 (set up for 600+ hp), US Gear Auxiliary 2 speed overdrive. The engine was disassembled,
balanced, all tolerances were checked, reassembled and Dynode. ATI Damperner, Custom Built Header
with Jet Coating, Aluminum Heads with Stainless Steel Roller Rockers, Blue Printed Oil pump,
ASM Fuel Injection System with Felpro Computer.

1941 Chevrolet COE

This 1941 Chevrolet COE was Originally a Kansas Fire Truck. No Patch panels anywhere. A New 283 cid
Chevrolet V8 was installed under cab hooked to a Corvette 400 Transmission. a 1980's Chevrolet
Pickup front suspension got installed under the front end. Coil Over 6.m. Rear, Power Steering,
Air, Steel 6M wheels with beauty rings and caps, New virgin hard pine bed, Owner fabricated
running boards, and rear fenders. Original truck frame, Honda Buckets. Interior sone in new tweed.
Original chrome bumper. Wood bed (2 inch thick). 27 gallon aluminum gas tank. Cab is thoroughly
insulated, no heat. Has new wiring, glasses, felts and so on. This COE is very unique. Unlike others
who build a car hauler, it was built to drive like a Pickup. It sits low, drives and rides like a
Pickup. Coils on four corners make for a smooth ride. Everything is new. Only about 1,000 miles
since completed 11 months ago. Turns heads Everywhere! It goes, people just
can't figure out what it is.

1948 Chevyrolet Crew Cab COE

Al Packard's 1948 Chevrolet COE was built using a '48 COE truck, '51 3/4 ton deluxe cab, '48
Suburban Carryall and '89 Chevy Dually chassis. The bed is hand built done in teck & mahogany.
The engine is a '91 Cummins Turbo Diesel hooked up to a Dodge overdrive transmission.

1951 Chevy COE

1951 Chevrolet COE, mounted on 89 GMC 1 ton chassis with 40" sleeper, 350 V8 Chevrolet, 700R4
transmission, stock 4.11 dually rear, Alloa aluminum wheels with new radials, am/fm, Power
steering, custom tool box & fuel tank, 5th wheel on goose neck hideaway hitch in bed of truck,
with 2" receiver hitch in rear bumber with roll pan, baby blue exterior and interior insulated,
spot lights, fog lights, new rubber & glass in windows.
